Hi there! My name is Starr and I am a 1-year-old, 45 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. My foster mom has been working with me on my skills outside of the crate though I am currently still crated when left unsupervised and overnight. I have a thing for stealing and shaking pillows or blankets which may not always be appreciated.

I am friendly with people including both men and women. I love attention and will seek it from everyone I meet! I can still get mouthy and jump up when I get excited so I would do best with older kids if there are kids in my home. I live with my foster mom in a small downtown area and love to greet people on our walks—I am also very outgoing with visitors to our home! I am learning to not overwhelm people with my excitement.

I have done well with most dogs and have visited dog parks with my foster mom. I play and wrestle hard which can be too much for dogs with gentler play styles, so any canine siblings in my home should be able to match my energy. I  would likely be too much for a senior dog. I love toys and will happily play fetch. Soft toys to mouth and occasionally destroy are my favorite! I cannot go to a home with cats.

I am learning a lot with my foster mom to improve my skills! I have learned to sit for things I want and before going through doors. My leash skills are improving and I now only pull slightly on the leash, particularly if we are walking by cars as I don’t like moving cars. I ride well in the car and am a great adventure buddy. I am a high energy girl so I will need a family dedicated to continuing my training and providing adequate exercise—could that be with you?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
