Hi! My name is Major and I am a 4-year-old, 80 lb neutered male. I am housetrained and crate-trained. I currently still need to be crated when left home alone and will go in for a treat.

I do well with both men and women. I’d prefer a home without small children. I am extremely affectionate with my family and am often described as a big marshmallow. I believe I am a lap dog and give top tier snuggles to my people. I have a deep appreciation for butt rubs. I require proper introductions to people visiting our home to ensure I know they are allowed to be there.

I have done well with other dogs of all sizes and wouldn’t mind having a sibling to play with me. I prefer to eat my food and high value treats away from other dogs. I love toys, especially soft ones. There isn’t much I wouldn’t give up to have a good plushy toy in my mouth! I enjoy spending time outside in the yard and will keep it clear of small wildlife. Relatedly, I cannot go to a home with cats.

I have learned to tolerate car rides and  walk fairly well on leash. I am a high energy boy who loves getting out for adventures! I am smart and would love someone committed to continuing my training. I can be pushy at times, so I need a confident handler with dog experience. I need an adopter willing to pick me up near Canton, OH so my foster parents can introduce us. I have been working hard to learn about house life and now I’m ready to find my perfect adoptive family, could that be with you?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
