Hello! My name is Lupin and I am a 1-year-old, 66 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I will need someone willing to maintain my crate-training and I need crated when left home alone as I can act like an overgrown puppy!
I am great with men and women when I meet them on neutral territory. I adore my family and actively seek affection, and even know to sit still when I am being pet since I agree this is the best use of your skills as my human! I love to be included in everything you do and am never far away. I do not like strangers coming to our home and need controlled, proper introductions to anyone wanting to visit; so I will require a confident handler willing to continue working with me in these situations.
I have done well with other large dogs who are comfortable establishing boundaries as I can be pushy and overbearing with new dogs as I establish what I will be allowed to get away with. I have a rough play style as well and will wrestle with my foster sister in the yard! I have a strong prey drive so I cannot go to a home with small dogs or cats. I love toys!! Especially hard toys I can gnaw on safely, and I really love destuffing plush toys. I have been learning fetch and am catching on slowly.
I like tagging along for car rides and going wherever you go, though my leash skills are a work in progress as I currently believe I’m training for the Iditarod. I am exceptionally food motivated and learn things quickly with consistency so I am sure I could learn what you expect from me with some clear training! I am expressive and have a wide vocal range to communicate my feelings with you and engage well in whatever I am doing. I am a strong, affectionate, happy boy looking for a confident, experienced owner willing to commit to continuing my training and socialization. My ideal family will live within a few hours of Worcester, MA so that you can meet my foster family directly… could you be my family?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
