Hi there! My name is Lotus and I am a 15-month-old, 50 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am typically crated when left home alone at my foster home, though I did well out of my crate after I discovered how to open it myself one time.

I am an affectionate girl who has done well with both men and women. I love to be near my people as often as possible, though I am good about not being underfoot. I like pets and will snuggle for a few minutes in bed at night before I go off to lay on my own. I am happy to welcome visitors to our home with a loose, wagging tail and seeking affection.

I have done well with other dogs after proper introductions and follow the confident lead of my foster sibling. I would love to have that confident canine companionship in my new home as well! I like to play with dogs I know well. I like toys—particularly rounding up all of the stuffies in the house for a mass destruction of stuffies. But if you don’t like stuffy guts everywhere then I also like chew bones and carrying around  a ball. I do have a strong prey drive and cannot go to a home with cats.

I ride well in the car and enjoy tagging along for adventures! My leash skills are a work in progress as I learn a loose leash is best! I have already learned sit and come. My foster mom says I am an intelligent, agile girl who would thrive with continued training that can provide suitable mental and physical challenges!  I do best eating Purina One Digestive due to sensitivities.

I know I am not white—I came to Echo Dogs as a puppy with my siblings who show more of our White Shepherd heritage! My first adopter sadly passed away, but I know he would’ve loved to see me land with another loving family—could that be with you?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
