Hello! My name is Jaxx and I am a 7-year-old, 55 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am trustworthy with my crate door open when home alone, but I need to have a crate available as a safe space.

I have had limited interaction with humans throughout my life which has left me quite scared of people, so I need a family willing to give me time and space to get acclimated. I accept affection from my foster mom and easily follow her around our home. I have started showing curiosity around what she is doing at times. I would prefer a quiet home with few visitors.

I have done well with other dogs and will require a confident canine sibling as I do tend to brighten when I have that companionship. I have also done well around cats and could have feline siblings. I have not shown much interest in toys.

I tolerate car rides well and am working on my leash skills—I only pull slightly in quiet areas around my home. I typically prefer to go outside, do my business, and quickly go back inside though sometimes I want to sniff around for a bit first. I currently take fluoxetine daily to help with my anxiety which is inexpensive. I am a quiet, low energy boy who would love to find a peaceful retirement home—could that be with you?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
