Hi there! My name is Dovie and I am a 6-year-old, 58 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, although I am mature and do not need to be crated when left home alone.

I am a social girl with people and have befriended men, women, and young children. Even my foster parents’ neighbors have commented that I’m the sweetest girl! I love to be near my people and will actively seek affection. I have not tried to get onto the furniture, but I love when my foster mom sits in my bed with me for some cuddles. I will happily and politely welcome any visitors into our home.

I am great with other dogs and would do well with a canine sibling, although I could also do well by myself. I won’t initiate rough play with another dog, but I will engage in it if another dog initiates it. I have been around many dogs in my foster home and have done well with all of them.  I love my toys, especially loud and squeaky ones! I am learning to play fetch but am not completely reliable to bring the ball back yet. I don’t have strong feelings about squirrels or rabbits, but I do have a very strong prey drive when it comes to cats and I will view them as hamburgers with legs—so I cannot go to a home with cats.

I am an intelligent girl who has been learning my basic commands. I know sit, down, paw, and crawl already. I have almost mastered my leash skills and only pull occasionally. I am learning to be gentle when taking treats as I can try to snatch them. I also ride well in the car and enjoy tagging along for errand runs.  I am a confident, friendly, active girl who is ready to find the perfect adoptive home—is that yours?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
