Hello! My name is Carlos and I am a 1-year-old, 34 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I do not need to be crated when unsupervised, but I prefer to have a crate set up so I have a safe space to retreat to if I become overwhelmed.
I am quite shy with new people and it took me a couple days to warm up to my foster parents. Now that I feel safe, I seek affection regularly and love to snuggle next to my foster parents on the couch! I have been doing well with men, women, and young children. I retreat to a safe space whenever unknown visitors come over, so I would prefer a quieter home.
I love other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine sibling to show me the ropes. If I am the only dog, I may be slower to get comfortable. I have been learning about toys and think they are great! I have also done well with cats.
I walk well on a leash and walks are a great way to build my confidence! I am not a huge fan of car rides though I will tolerate them. I am a quiet boy who is catching on quickly to the ways of house dogs and would love to find an adoptive family where I can continue to blossom—could that be with you?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
