Hello! My name is Astrid and I am a 1-year-old, 55 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, although I do not need to be crated when left home alone. Although I am not destructive when left alone, I will whine very loudly when you leave me in case you just forgot to take me with you, so a family willing to continue working with me to be comfortable when left alone.
I will require a transition period to my new home as I will likely be fearful and may be defensive initially. I have settled in well at my foster home and have done well meeting men, women, and young children (with supervision). I am a very sweet girl who will actively seek interaction and love my people! I want to love and be loved! I will welcome visitors into our home.
I do well with other dogs my size or larger and would benefit from a calm, confident canine sibling for me to follow their lead. I have bonded strongly to my foster brother (another GSD) and follow his cues—I do like to play rough though so my sibling should be able to wrestle comfortably! I will hunt small dogs, cats, or wildlife so I cannot go to a home with any animals smaller than myself. I love toys and will happily play fetch! I will regularly seek you out to play with me!
I am an intelligent girl who already knows my basic commands and how to walk well on the leash. I enjoy going for my daily walks! I would love a family who will continue training with me. I am a well-behaved girl who has adjusted well to inside, family life and would love to find my very own people—could I be your new family member?

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states east of the Mississippi. Visit our Newcomers to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog is available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
